Jai Guru Deva.
Northern Rivers and South East Queensland Vedic meditators are invited to join us for Guru Purnima this year in Byron Bay (Suffolk Park).
Guru means teacher, and Purnima means fullness, the moon at its peak, and Guru Purnima is an ancient Vedic tradition, thousands of years old. It's an occasion set aside to give thanks: to the teachers and lineage who handed this practice down to us, and to anyone and any experience in our own lives that have been a teacher to us.
It's a sweet occasion (literally) that gives us an opportunity to come together to reflect and show reverence, as well as to add some flavour to "the future in the making" by setting an intention through a "boon" or wish.
We'll open with the Puja ceremony, the same one you already know, a short and heartfelt thank you to the Tradition of Masters. At the end of it, you'll offer your flower and make your wish, the Guru Purnima boon.
We'll follow with a short group meditation, then enjoy sweets, some caffeine-free chai, and connection with others from the Vedic Meditation community.
If the weather is kind, we'll walk or drive to the beach at Suffolk Park (800 metres away) and soak up the Soma from the full moon.
The event is free, but please bring something sweet to share as a contribution, and is open to anyone who's already learned Vedic Meditation or TM.
The address will be sent once you submit your RSVP. Street parking is available. Space is limited, so please RSVP now to hold your space.
